Guided Biofilm Therapy

Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) is a Swiss technology used in our oral hygiene consultation. At the North Clinic, the oral hygiene appointment lasts approximately one hour and is performed by a specialized oral hygienist.

Using the latest generation AIRFLOW®, PERIOFLOW® and PIEZON®, this technology ensures maximum comfort and effectiveness in reducing the biofilm, thus ensuring better periodontal health for our patients and maximum comfort during the procedure.

Biofilm is the main etiological factor for caries, periodontal and peri-implant infections. Periodontitis can increase the risk of systemic diseases such as cardiovascular and respiratory diseases, arthritis or diabetes.

A good daily oral hygiene, combined with professional care, keeps the biofilm under control – for better oral and systemic health. The GBT follows the European Federation of Periodontology (EFP) recommendations on Professional Mechanical Plaque Removal (PMPR) and Oral Hygiene Instructions (OHI) for Home Care of the European Federation of Periodontology (EFP).
