Gingivitis or inflammation of the gums is the initial form of periodontal disease and is very common. If left untreated, gingivitis can progress to a much more serious condition called periodontitis (inflammation/infection of the bone).

This infection, caused by bacteria, can lead to the destruction of the bone and the ligament that holds the tooth to the alveolar bone.

Tooth mobility is one of the most frequent symptoms that can lead to tooth loss.

Currently, these two diseases are the main cause of tooth loss in adults. The main cause of these diseases is plaque and tartar (aka “stone”) and some of the symptoms are:

> Bleeding spontaneously or when brushing the gums

> Red gums

> Increased volume in the gums

> Presence of suppuration in the gums

> Disinserted gingiva (“detached”)

> Loss of texture in the Gingiva

> Gingival Retraction (Exposition of the roots)

> Cold sensitive

> Bad breath and/or bad taste in the mouth

> Teeth shaking and separating.

> Gap opening between the teeth

Using the latest generation AIRFLOW®, PERIOFLOW® and PIEZON®, this technology ensures maximum comfort and effectiveness in reducing the biofilm, thus ensuring better periodontal health for our patients and maximum comfort during the procedure.

At North Clinic, the oral hygiene appointment lasts approximately one hour and is performed by a specialized oral hygienist.
